Course Information
Description Application of communication theory to interpersonal relationship development, maintenance, and termination in relationship contexts including friendships, romantic partners, families, and relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
Prerequisites None
Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will : Exhibit understandiing of interpersonal theories and principals.
Demonstrate ability to analyze and critique verbal and nonverbal interactions in various contexts.
Identify perceptual processes as they relate to self and others.
Demonstrate critical thinking ability by effectively researching , evaluating and applying communication theories in written assignments.
Identify types of and barriers to effective listening.
Core Objectives Core Objectives:
1.    Applying Interpersonal Communication theory to various interpersonal relationships; development, maintenance and termination context includes, friendships, romantic partners, families and professional relationships.
2.    Communication Skills: Students will demonstrate effective written, and visual communication.
3.    Critical Thinking: Students will exhibit creative and innovative thinking, evaluation and analysis of communication material.
4.    Personal Responsibility: Students will illustrate ethical characteristics with their choices reactions rendered to interpersonal communication topic issues.
